WELCOME TO GREEN GANG WORLD

OUR MISSION

Green Gang NFP is an environmental workforce of volunteers located in the Chicagoland area of Illinois.

Our mission is to beautify and improve the environmental quality and well-being of communities.

We strive to accomplish our goals by decluttering, reducing and recycling trash in polluted areas.

OUR FOUNDER & CEO

Eric Von Battles, Jr. is the founder and CEO of Green Gang. For over a decade, Eric has been committed to changing the world through investigating better ways to manage pollution and environmental disasters.

His interest in the environment has always been a part of him from a young age, but his skills were honed and cultivated at Hampton University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Science. After graduating, Eric started his work experience as an animal care lab technician at Charles River Laboratories at the University of Chicago Hospital.

Following his tenure there, he landed a position working with Cardno-Entrix, a natural resource management and environmental consultancy group that responded to the BP oil spill in 2010. This experience would led him to a career in the US Coast Guard as a Marine Science Technician and Boatswain’s Mate. It was in these capacities where Eric engaged in a variety of environmental work and studies in places like Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, North Carolina, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Puerto Rico. His expanding work experience in serving the environment allowed him to come up with the idea of Green Gang. With Green Gang, Eric hopes to expand to working on decluttering, beautifying, planting and recycling in the places and spaces that need it most.

Eric says, “It’s just good people having a good time doing good things.”
